Chatham Township / Borough

Named one of the top 10 places to live by Money Magazine in 2005 and in February 2008, NJ Monthly magazine and the Monmouth University Polling Institute voted Chataham Township the #1 BEST PLACE TO LIVE in New Jersey. Also, for the fourth time since 2000, Chatham High School had the highest SAT scores among schools in Morris County. Chatham Borough and Chatham Township, often referred to as The Chathams, are lovely residential communities with a total population of about 17,000, located on the edge of Morris County, consisting of about 12 square miles in area. (The Boro is 2.4 square miles, the Township 9.2 square miles). The Chatham’s can be considered a "bedroom community" and offer an array of quaint shops and restaurants, including a traditional "main street" to stroll and abundant recreational facilities including golf, tennis and swimming.
